In 1970, Automated Filing Systems began supplying various tabletop devices to organize reference cards. These devices were simple and effective tools which allowed personnel to access information quickly, accurately and efficiently. One idea led to another, and before long AFS was designing, supplying and installing high density filing systems in almost every industry Southern California could dream up. Every project needed better ways to maximize the use of space, improve access, operate more efficiently and provide for future expansion. AFS filled it's tool kit with quality products that would meet these storage and retrieval demands perfectly. Little did we know that in our name we were forecasting a very exciting future! Thirty years later AFS is still providing systems that help organize information. Although the words "shelving", "filing", "automated", and "retrieval" still apply, the products, applications and technologies have changed dramatically...and will continue to do so! AFS is ready with over 30 years' experience in creating systems for solving filing, retrieval, archiving, purging and related storage problems...for all types of products, records and information. Products, including removeable computer storage media, discs, DAT and DA88 or larger VHS tape formats, film of all types, and of course, books, business records, manuscripts, collectables, specimens of all types, and valuable artworks, to list just a few, can now be safely and securely filed in much less time, and retrieved in seconds.
